Amelia Island Trivia
"Trivia, Fun & Activities on Beautiful Amelia Island, Florida!"
Here are some of my favorite places on my home base, Amelia Island
Of course, first for me are the natural places, the ocean, the beaches, the marsh, the hammocks and trails thru Egan's Creek Greenway, Ft. Clinch and Amelia Island Plantation.  I love to see the blue herons and snowy egrets, the pink spoonbills, manatees, gators, bobcats, deer, fish, dolphins, turtles. Once we even had a bear wandering around for a few weeks.  He probably swam off to Cumberland Island.  Amelia Island is teeming with wildlife! I also love the Spanish Moss swaying in the Live Oaks mingled among the varied palm trees. And those gorgeous St Mary's River sunsets at the marina in downtown Fernandina Beach.  We have so much natural beauty here!

Elizabeth Pointe Lodge is a B&B inn right on the beach and won a Conde Nast Traveler Magazine readers choice award for one of the top 2  best hotels in the US in 2008.

T-Ray's Burger Station is a down-home local favorite eatery that used to also be his father Big Ray's gas station. They are credited for THE BEST BURGER IN FLORIDA By USA TODAY!  They were also written up in Southern Living magazine and The Washington Post.  They also serve breakfasts (biscuits to die for) lunches, desserts and my fav the grilled portobello sandwich!

Eileen's Arts and Antiques in downtown Fernandina Beach is a must see shop.  Eileen is a wonderful local artist and her paintings along with many other artists and objets d' art  are featured.
We have a very interesting Museum of History with a fascinating exhibit with murals depicting a native Timucuan Village.  They were Amelia Island's original inhabitants.  Trivia Alert:  They were very tall and covered with tattooes!
